Dick Nowakowski, intrepid naturalist and avid tree-climber, is set to tar and feather himself in aid of New England's white-tailed fox. After spending six months underground, documenting the endangered black-tailed prairie dog, Dick has resurfaced to bring New England's powerful fox hunting industry to its knees. Dick plans on disrupting Maine's 11th Annual Fox in a Barrel Shoot by releasing a flock of wild Cornish game hens at the start of the hunt. With the hunting dogs distracted, Dick will charge the mounted hunters with only his wits, several road flares and the feathers on his back to protect him.
Dick invites you to join him on Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Penobscot Lake Lodge at 9:00am. The hunt is scheduled to begin at 10:00am, leaving ample time to heat the tar and apply the feathers. For those of you coming from out of State, Penobscot Lake Lodge lies 60 miles northwest of Greenville, Maine (just minutes from the Canadian border).
For those of you wishing to make feather donations to this noble cause, please email me at dicknowakowski@yahoo.ca.
